I grew up making all the beauty mistakes you did.
Once, I died my eyebrows orange, because I didn’t understand hydrogen peroxide, or why I was blessed with black eyebrows and light brown hair. In second grade I was sent home from school, because I couldn’t properly remove the 24 hour wear lipstick I had on from the weekend. I tried it all. Failed waxing, Chewbacca gold hair, crappy eyeliner, and highlighting combs.
I was sick of tired of not know the answers to my beauty questions, so I went to cosmetology school.
School changed my life. I’m still not a girly girl, and believe in simplicity. Between my job behind the scenes at various theaters, and my constant battle with chronic lyme disease, I believe in a lazy beauty routine, hence my motto Lazy Girl’s Guide to Scientific Beauty, from Life Backstage to Real Life Sh*t.
I wanted to create a space that doesn’t just tell you how to enhance your beauty routine, but why some things work, and others don’t.
I’m not trying to change who you are, just make your life easier by boosting confidence, saving time, and finding your way in the beauty world.
I want to help you navigate the beauty world from finding the right skin care for your skin type, which beauty books are worth a read, and what products you should try making at home. I will occasionally throw in some good humor and an opinion piece or a killer guest post..
When she’s not practicing the art of Cosmetology, I practice the art of playing pretend with her coworkers at Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
